Rosemary

Speech and Language therapist at PlayStreet and has an experience in working with paediatric population. She has worked with children having a variety of speech language difficulties including Autism Spectrum Disorders and Childhood Apraxia of Speech. She has Masters in Speech and Hearing. She is a Level 2 certified Oral Placement Therapist. She seeks to provide therapy to help the children/adults achieve their communication. She believes that communication is an exchange of information and ideas between two people using language and it can be verbal or non-verbal. AAC or Alternative Augmentative communication is anything an individual use, which is not speech, to communicate. Alternative Augmentative communication methods can be unaided (gestures) or aided (photographs), using objects or devices (software programmes) as in the end, what matters in that how a child conveys the needs, ideas, opinion to others.
